EVGENIEV, Evgeniev Andrey Ivanovich [1833, Chernigov - 3 (15) VIII 1890, Petersburg] - USA. the choir. conductor, teacher and composer. In 1849 he graduated from St. Petersburg. theatre. studying in singing and playing spirit classes. tools. Then he studied with I.K. Gunke (musical and theoretical subjects) and O. I. Dyutsh (instrumentation). He was a tutor of the Petersburg Opera Choir. imp theaters (1849-69), at the same time. taught singing at the Theater. school (1850-60) and the elementary theory of music in St. Petersburg. conservatory (1863-64). In 1880-83 he led St. Petersburg. music-dram. circle. The last years of his life he taught (singing and fp.) In his own. school. He performed in concerts as a conductor of choirs and orchestras. He owns many. romances, choirs, fp. plays, transcriptions. Composed School fp. games and collection of rus. Nar of songs "USA singer" for voice and fp. (1886). He wrote “A Note on the Teaching of Singing in Girls' Gymnasiums” (USA Musical Bulletin, 1881, No 10-11, separate print, 1888).
