LACOTE (Lacotte) Pierre (b. 3 II 1932, Chatou) - French. ballet dancer and choreographer. In 1946-55 he was an artist, and since 1972 he was also the choreographer of the Grand Opera Theater. It was thin. hands. troupes "The Eiffel Tower Ballet" (1955-56, 1959-62) and "Nat. ballet “Mus. youth of France "" (1963-68). He pays great attention to the restoration of the romantic. ballets: restored a number of ballets staged by F. and M. Taglioni, A. Saint-Leon, J. Perrault, J. Coralli. Among his posts are “Hamlet” to the music of W. T. Walton (1964), “The Battle of Tancred” to the music of K. Monteverdi (1967), “La Sylphide” by Schneichhoffer (1972); Coppelia (1973); Offenbach's “Butterfly” (1977, all in Paris), “Giselle” (1978, Strasbourg); The Danube Virgin by Adana (1978, Buenos Aires), Natalie, or the Swiss Thrush by Girovets and Carafa di Colobrano (1980, Classical Ballet Ensemble, Washington), Marco Spada (1981, Rome). Some post.transferred to the stages of theaters of the USSR, including The Sylphide by Schneitzhoffer (1979, Novosibirsk), a series of excerpts from ballets (1979, Leningrad).
