IBN SINA (Latinized. Avicenna, Avicenna) Abu Ali Hussein ibn Abdallah (c. 980, village of Afshan, near Bukhara - 18 VI 1037, Hamadan) - an encyclopedic scientist, doctor, philosopher of the Eastern Middle Ages. Educated in Bukhara. At one time he was at the court of the ruler of Khorezm. Later he moved to Dzhurjan, lived in Qazvin, Isfahan, Hamadan. The author of many treatises and books. In some of them he considered the music-theoretical. questions: sections “Code of the science of music” (“Book of healing”) and “Abridged statement of the science of music” (“Book of salvation”), part of the section “Mathematics” (“Book of knowledge”).
