BONAventura (Bonaventura) Arnaldo (28 VII 1862, Livorno - 7 X 1952, Florence) - Italian musicologist. He studied violin under F. Favilly, harmony and counterpoint with J. Bellio. He taught the history of music and muses. aesthetics at the Florentine Conservatory, was a librarian of the Nat. books in Florence. In 1931-38 muses. critic of the magazine "La Nazione". Works of B. cover a wide range of topics: the history of music and Dep. musesinstruments, various forms of instrumental music, the work of composers and performers, Italian musical theater, issues of musical aesthetics. He participated in the first music festival Florence May (1933). Professor of the Music Institute in Florence.
