At the beginning of the 1973 season, Elvis’s paranoia escalated to such an extent that the unexpected invasion of four fans on the stage of the concert hall one evening provoked a uniform battle in front of an amazed audience. Confident that they were attempting on his life, Elvis used karate techniques, beating one of the "attackers", and his bodyguards did the same with the three others. Presley was convinced that his offenders had been sent by Mike Stone, Priscilla's new companion. He immediately ordered his two henchmen to kill his rival and even took out a machine gun from the closet in the hotel room, but after a few hours he calmed down.
