Free DownloadIn 1999, Jimmy Iowin managed to get things off the ground. Guns N 'Roses released their first new song in eight years that summer. The industrial-sounding "Oh Mu God" was intended for the soundtrack to "End of the World", another action movie with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and was even presented by Axl on MTV. The hope reappeared for the imminent release of “Chinese Democracy”, but the song was boring, barely made its way on the radio and was described in the press as another disappointment from the group, which let its fans and itself down. Later in the year, Axl gave Rolling Stone magazine a dozen tracks with Chinese Democracy for pre-listening. The magazine politely but coldly spoke of the earlier versions of IRS, Catcher in the Rye, and The Blues. It was reported that the release of the album is tentatively scheduled for the summer of 2000.
