ARKANOV (present. Fam. - Lizunov) Veniamin Pavlovich [p. 24 II (9 III) 1905, p. Inya, now Altai Krai] - Soviet singer (bass) and teacher. Nar art. RSFSR (1955). In 1941 he graduated from Leningrad. conservatory (class G. A. Bosset). Stage activity began in 1927 as an artist of the choir Leningra. Opera and Ballet Theater Kirov. In 1932-38 he was a soloist of the Mobile Opera Theater of the Middle Volga Region, in 1938-44 Leningrad. Philharmonic, in 1944-59 Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theater. Performed by sv. 50 opera parts, including: Boris Godunov, Dosifei, Melnik, Ruslan; Tomsky (The Queen of Spades), Mephistopheles; Don Basilio (The Barber of Seville). He performed in the opera "October" Muradeli (in the role of V. I. Lenin).
