RADICH (Radium) Dushan (b. 10 IV 1929, Sombor) - Serb. composer (Yugoslavia). He graduated in 1954 Mus. Academy in Belgrade in the composition class of M. Zhivkovich, perfected by D. Millau and O. Messian in Paris (1957-58). The most significant voc. cit., incl. “List” (“Listak”, for 2 female voices and 11 instruments, 1956) and the cantata “Tower of Skulls” (“hele-kula”, 1957; Oktyabrskaya pr., 1959). Based on the traditions of nat. musesfolklore, applies modern. writing tools. It achieves expressiveness with simplicity and laconicism of orchestration, uses decomp. Wok techniques recitation, gravitates to bright theatricality.
