LAMY (Lamy) Alfred Joseph (8 IX 1850, Mircourt - 1919, Paris) - French. master of bows. From the age of 12 he studied making bows with Sh. K. Husson. In 1866-77, he worked with J. Vuaren (brother of J. F. N. Vuaren) with P.L. Gotro at the Chateau-Thierry, in 1877-85 he studied and worked in Paris with J. F. N. Vuaren (after teacher’s death continued his work). L. along with F. Turt, D. Pecat, J. B. Villaume and Voiren - the largest French. master. L.'s bows are made according to the original model.
