ZAKARYAN Karo Oganesovich (15 XII 1895, Van, Turkey - 11 V 1967, Yerevan) - Soviet composer and choir. conductor. Nar art.Arm SSR (1960). Ch. CPSU since 1949. Since 1929 he lived in Yerevan, where he taught at the conservatory in the choir class; collected Kurdish bunks. songs. He directed the Yerevan Radio Choir (1938-53).
