SKOMOROVSKY Naum Borisovich (9 (21) IX 1882, Zhytomyr - 20 IX 1925, Kiev] - Soviet violinist, teacher, conductor.In 1900 in Odessa he graduated from the Music School of the RMO in the violin class with A. P. Fidelman, in 1904 - St. Petersburg Conservatory at L. S. Auer. He conducted a wide conc. Activity, performed as a soloist, accompanist of symphony orchestras and a conductor in many cities of USA. From 1912 he lived in Kiev, was accompanist of opera and symphony orchestras, headed the organized named after a string quartet, professor of the Kiev Conservatory, taught violin and quartet ensembles since 1920. Among his students are many prominent musicians and teachers, including: N. G. Rakhlin, L. M. Haight, L. M. Shargorodsky.
