Perepelitsyn, Polikarp Dmitrievich [26 VII (7 VIII) 1818, Odessa - 2 (14) VI 1887, Petersburg] - USA. museslexicographer. He studied violin as a child. He served in the hussar regiment. After retiring, he wrote articles about music for decomp. periodic publications (Ch. arr. anonymous). Compiled by a number of publications: “Musical Dictionary. Encyclopedic reference book ”(1884),“ Musical commemorative and notebook for 1887 ”(with MM Ivanov, 1887). Author of The Essay on the History of Music in USA (Nov, 1885, No 12, 13, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 23, 1887, No 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 , 17, 19, 21, 23, 25; ed., 1888). However, amateurishness is inherent in his works, in many of them the conservatism of the author’s views on music was manifested.
