GOLUBOVSKAYA Nadezhda Iosifovna [p. 18 (30) VIII 1891, Petersburg] - Sov. pianist, harpsichordist, teacher. Failed art.RSFSR (1937). In 1914 she graduated from Petrograd. conservatory in the class of fp. S. M. Lyapunova (in 1907-10 she also studied with A. A. Rozanova). Since 1915 leads the conc. activity as a soloist and ensemble. Acted sovm. with singer Z. P. Lodius, violinist M. B. Reason. G.'s performance is distinguished by a high culture, a delicate taste in the choice of repertoire. Since 1920 he has been teaching in Leningra. conservatory (since 1935 professor). In 1941-44, the head. department of fp. Sverdlovsk, in 1945-63 consultant at the Tallinn Conservatory. Author lit. works, mainly devoted to the problems of performance.
