Mr. Bungle - Vanity Fair

LOU (more correctly Loewe) Frederick (b. 10 VI 1904, Vienna) - American composer and pianist. By nationality Austrian. Son of the operetta (tenor) singer E. Low. He studied the game in fp. by F. Busoni and E. d'Albert, by composition by E. Reznichek. At the age of 13, he performed as a pianist with the Berlin Philharmonic. the orchestra. Concerted a lot later. In 1924 he moved to the USA with his father, but was not successful as a pianist. In the 30s. played in fp. in restaurants in New York, wrote music for the show in the spirit of Viennese operettas. Many of his musicals are famous, one of the best is “My Fair Lady” (“My fair lady”, based on the play by B. Shaw “Pygmalion”, 1954). Among other op. Operettas are: “Paint your wagon” (“Paint your wagon”, 1951), “Camelot” (based on the novel by T. A. White, “King of the Former and the Future,” 1960). The author of songs, revue music and motion pictures.
