Free DownloadKONDRATSKY (Kondracki) Michal (b. 5 X 1902, Poltava) - Polish composer. He graduated from the Warsaw Conservatory (1927) in the classes of K. Szymanowski and R. Statkovsky (composition), X. Meltzer-Schavinsky (fp.); perfected the composition of P. Duke, N. Boulanger and P. Vidal in "Ecole Normal" in Paris (1928-31). He was one of the organizers of the Society of Young Polish Musicians in Paris, then the Union of Polish Composers and the Society of Sov. Polish music in Warsaw. Since 1940 he worked in Rio de Janeiro, where he wrote Two Brazilian Dances (Dwa tance brazylijskie, 1943). Since 1943 teaches in New York. K.'s work is characterized by the use of elements of nat. musesfolklore in combination with avant-garde techniques (“The Little Gural Symphony” - “Mala symfonia goralska”, 1930, “Kurpevskaya Suite” - “Suita kurpiowska”, 1933, 2nd ed. 1947). In some productions. the influence of K. Shimanovsky and I.F. Stravinsky is noticeable.
