In 1941 he graduated from the Kiev Conservatory in singing with D. G. Evtushenko. Since 1944, soloist of the Lviv Opera and Ballet Theater; since 1950 a teacher in the class of solo singing at the Lviv Conservatory (since 1970 professor). K. has a beautiful voice of a velvety timbre. Its performance is distinguished by great musicality and thoroughness of decoration of the performed part. Main parties: Gryaznoy (The Tsar’s Bride), Eugene Onegin, Yeletsky, Prince Igor, Demon, Rigoletto, Scarpia, Amonasro, Tonio, Germont; Renato (The Masquerade Ball), Figaro; Ostap (“Taras Bulba” Lysenko), Bogdan (“Bogdan Khmelnitsky” Dankevich), Oleg Koshevoi (“Young Guard”), Gourmet (“Stolen Happiness” by Matus), Maxim [“Zagrava” (“Glow”) of Kos-Anatolsky] and others. Performs as a chamber singer.
