TURK (Tureck) Rosalyn (b. 14 XII 1914, Chicago) - Amer. pianist. She performed with a Chicago symph. the orchestra at the age of 11. In 1928 she received the 1st ave. In the children's fp. competition in Chicago. In 1936 she graduated from O. Samarova (fp.) Juilliard muses. school in New York, which then taught (1943-55). She was later a professor at the University of California, USA and Oxford University, UK. Has toured to the USA (since 1937) and Lat. America, from 1947 - in Europe, made a conc. tour in Africa and the Far East. Since 1960, she also performed as a harpsichord player. With the greatest success performs production. JS Bach, especially the Goldberg Variations, includes in the programs and other classic. cit., as well as modern. to the music. He currently lives in the UK, often gives concerts in the USA.
