MYAKINEN (Mäkinen) Timo Juhani (b. 6 VI 1919, near Sortavala) - fin. musicologist and music societies. figure. He studied in Helsinki at the University and Muses. Academy named after J. Sibelius (1938-47). Improved in Switzerland (1948-52), Germany and Czechoslovakia (1960), in Poland (1966-67). He taught the game in fp. in muses. School (1953-1955) and Ped. Institute (1956-62) in Jyväskylä, the history of music - in the Muses. Academy (1963-69) and University (1967-69) in Helsinki. Since 1969, professor at the University of Jyvaskyla. One of the founders (jointly with S. Nummi) of the Jyväskylä Summer festival of culture (previous of his committee since 1972), member thin Council of the Opera House Festival in Savonlinna (since 1973). Published (with X.
