GRIKUROV Eduard Petrovich [p. 29 III (11 IV) 1907, Tbilisi] - Soviet conductor and teacher. Nar art.RSFSR (1957). In 1921-27 he studied at the Tbilisi Conservatory with A. I. Tulashvili (fp.), M. M. Ippolitov-Ivanov and S. V. Barkhudaryan (composition). In 1933 he graduated from Leningrad. conservatory in the class of conducting (student A.V. Gauka). In 1935-36 he headed the USA Orchestra. Nartools to them. V.V. Andreeva. He acted as a propagandist of opera art by Soviet composers. From 1937 conductor, in 1944-56 and 1964-1969 ch. Conductor Leningrad.
