RISLER (Risler) Edouard Joseph (23 II 1873, Baden-Baden - 22 VII 1929, Paris) - French. pianist. He took lessons in playing FP. under A. Dimler, B. Stavenhagen and C. Klindworth in Berlin, in 1883-90 studied with L. Diemer and T. Dubois at the Paris Conservatory, improved with E. d'Albert. In 1896-97 he was accompanist at the Wagner festivals in Bayreuth, later participated in the post. musesDrama R. Wagner in Paris. R. played a prominent role in the history of the French. pianistic culture as a teacher and concertian (he propagandized the main music of L. Beethoven; in the cycle of concerts in Paris he played all of his sonatas. Since 1906 he was a teacher (since 1923 professor) in the class of fp. and a member of the highest council of the Paris Conservatory. He toured in different countries , including in USA.The repertoire also includes harpsichordists, was the first performer of many new works, including R. Hans, P. Duke (sonata and variations, interlude and finale on the theme of J. F. Rameau), J. Enescu, G. Foret and others. He owns the fp processing of works of various genres R. Wagner, R. Strauss, A. E. Chabrier, E. Lalo. B. Schnittke.
