AMI (Amy) Gilbert (b. 29 VIII 1936, Paris) - French composer and conductor. In 1955-59 he studied at the Paris Conservatory with O. Messian (muse. Analysis), D. Millau (composition). In 1958-60 he studied with K. Stockhausen (attended the Darmstadt seminars of new music). He took lessons from P. Boulez (conducting). In 1967-74 he headed the new music concerts Domaine musical, organized in 1954 by Boulez. Among op.
