PERSINGER (Persinger) Louis (11 II 1887, Rochester, Illinois - 31 XII 1966, New York) - Amer. violinist and teacher. From the age of 6 he studied playing the php., From the age of 10 he studied the violin. In 1900-04 he studied the violin class with X. Becker at the Leipzig Conservatory; studied arm conduction. A. Nikita. He improved his skills as a violinist with E. Izaya in Brussels (1905-08) and with J. Thibault in Paris (1909). Has toured in the countries of Zap. Europe (1909-11) and the USA (1912-13). He was accompanist of the Berlin Philharmonic. (1914-15) and the San Francisco Symphony. (1915-17) orchestras. In 1916-28 hands. The island of chamber music, San Francisco, performed the part of the 1st violin in the orchestra of this society. In 1929-30 he taught at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
