MAILYAN Anton Sergeevich (Sarkisovich) [16 (28) III 1880, Tbilisi - 20 IV 1942, Baku] - Soviet composer, choirmaster, teacher. Failed activist Arts Azerb. SSR (1930). He studied music at the Tbilisi Seminary with M. Yekmalyan, then at the Tbilisi Muses. School of RMO (composition class N. Nikolaev). DOS M.'s activities took place in Baku. In 1910-17 published a monthly illustrated journal. "Tatron ev erazhstutyun." He organized the first working choirs in the oil districts of Baku, after the establishment of the Sov. Authorities in Azerbaijan - Children's Theater-Muses. section at the House of Arm. art (Baku), studied music. parenting. He wrote children's operas "Tales of Grandmother Gulnaz" (1906), "Beautiful Spring" ("Gozal Bahar", 1925); “Zizik”, “The bone of happiness” (“Bakhti of Corise”), “Playful Mikich” (“Char Mikich”) - all in 1926.
