KUBELIK (Kubelik) Jerome Rafael (b. 29 VI 1914, Bihori, Czech Republic) - Czechoslovakia conductor and composer. He studied violin and music theory from his father - Jan K., then - at the Prague Conservatory (1928-1933) with P. Dedeczek (conducting), O. Sheena (composition), J. Felda (violin). As a conductor he made his debut in 1934 in Prague with the Chesh Orchestra. Philharmonic society with which he spoke in 1936-39. Muses Director Nat. Theater in Brno (1939-41) and Chesh. Philharmonic Orchestra (1941-48). In con. 1940s along with the classic. performed by repertoire Czech (V. Novak, J. Suk, L. Janacek, O. Ostrchil) and owls. (S. S. Prokofiev, D. D. Shostakovich) composers. There was a hand. Chicago symph. Orchestra (1950-53), muses.
