Brecker and A.V. Berezin. In 1930-1957 artist symph. Orchestra Leningrad. Philharmonic. In 1931-41 teacher of muses. teaching them. M.P. Mussorgsky, from 1937 - the Leningrad Conservatory (professor since 1950). G. was an outstanding virtuoso; his game was distinguished by subtle expressiveness, high technical skill.
