GAFUROV Makhmujan (b. 20 X 1917, Tashkent) - Soviet singer (tenor). Nar art.Uzb. SSR (1950). Ch. CPSU. In 1935-39 he studied at the Tashkent Theater. technical school in the class of singing V.P. Devlet. Since 1939, artist Uzbek. theater muses. drama and comedy them. Mukimi (Tashkent). G.'s repertoire includes 150 roles. He was the first performer of ch. roles in production Uzbek composers, including: Tahir ("Tahir and Zuhra" by Abdullah, music by Jalilov, 1940), Farhad ("Farhad and Shirin" by Yashen, music by Rajabi, 1948), Alpamysh ("Alpamysh" by Abdullah, music by Jalilov, 1949), Subhankul (“Love for the Motherland” by Sagdulla and Fathulin, music by S. Babaev, 1953). In 1951-1953 he was a soloist of Uzb. opera and ballet theater, where he performed the parts: Butadzhan ("Grand Canal" Ashrafi), Mukimi ("Mukimi" Dzhalilova), Kadyr, Majnun ("Gyulsara", "Leili and Majnun" by Glier and Sadykov). Acts like a conc. singer. G. perfectly owns nat. manner of singing, is an original performer of Uzbek.opera repertoire.
