He studied music in the King. the Conservatory in Liège with S. Dupuis (harmony), with J. T. Radu (composition, fugue), the composition was perfected by V. d'Andy in Paris, where in 1901-06 he taught playing the viola and harmony in the Schola Cantorum, led the choir. In 1906-26 he was director of the Luxembourg Conservatory. He toured as a conductor in France, Holland, Germany. Composer's work has developed mainly under the influence of S. Frank.
