VERDELO (Verdelot) Philippe (1485, Carpentra, according to other sources, Cadrus - 1567, Florence) is a Flemish composer. B.Ch. spent his life in Italy. In the 1520s sang in chapels and hands. church. choirs in decomp. cathedrals, from 1524 he served at the court of Pope Clement VII, then was the bandmaster of the Cathedral of San Giovanni in Florence (c. 1530-40).
