BORI (Bori) Lucretia [24 XII 1888, Burriana, Valencia - 14 V 1960, New York] - Spanish. artist of the opera (soprano). One of the outstanding opera singers of the 20th century. She studied singing at the conservatory in Valencia, then in Milan (with M. Vidal) and Rome. She first appeared on the opera stage in 1908, performing the part of Michaela in the Roman theater "Adriano". Then she sang in Paris (1910, together with E. Caruso and P. Amato), Milan (t. La Scala, 1910-11), New York (Metropolitan Opera, 1912-15, 1921-36 ) and others. In 1936 left the scene. B. possessed the voice of a transparent timbre, which sounded freely in all registers.
