BESSELER (Bosseler) Heinrich (2 IV 1900, Dortmund-Hörde - 25 VII 1969, Leipzig) - German musicologist (GDR). He studied musicology with W. Gurlitt in Freiburg, G. Adler and W. Fischer in Vienna and F. Ludwig in Göttingen. From 1925 he taught at the universities of Freiburg, Heidelberg, Jena, and since 1956 he was a professor at the University of Leipzig.
