In the 19th century B. called a tarantella-like fast dance in size with a constant emphasis on the 2nd half of the measure: The famous “Bergamo Suite” by K. Debussy for fp. (1895-1905) does not include B. 's melodies, but conveys the composer's impressions of the surroundings of Bergamo.
