During a long flight to Buenos Aires, there was talk of Guns participating in a couple of big summer festivals with U2, but no one seriously believed that it was real. The main desire of the whole team was to finish the tour and return safe and sound to California. One cause for concern on this tour was Duff McKagan's progressive alcoholism, although a swollen, disheveled bass player rarely missed the notes. Some said that McKagan, always drunk in the insole, retains the original spirit of Guns. Others worried that he was killing himself.
