As for the music itself, when I got to know McCartney closer, I was amazed. Naturally, I heard his things, the whole world knows them, but I did not even know about the depth of his talent. The ease with which McCartney plucks melodies out of himself — each of which would be fame to any composer — the simplicity behind which only genius stands, the childish ability to see objects and events in their real meaning is McCartney. If he knew the notes, I certainly would not need him, because he hears not only his tunes, but also their orchestrations.
