In mid-May, towards the evening, Del James arrived at Axl's home in West Hollywood. Axl and Erin had a fight the previous night, and the apartment still looked like a battlefield. The large mirror wall of the living room was broken. The acoustic guitar turned into a handful of chips in the corner. Axl's gold and platinum albums, neatly hung on the walls along with awards, lay scattered across the floor. Someone broke an expensive stereo. The phone flew down from the balcony of the twelfth floor. Axl's uncontrolled fury still hung in the air like stagnant tear gas.
