Heinrich Laube (Laube; 1806–1884) is a German writer, since the 1830s one of the main representatives of the political and literary movement Young Germany, a friend of Wagner. The author of the novels “Young Europe” (1833–1837), “German War” (1865–1866). Subsequently, he departed from the ideals of "Young Germany" and during the revolution of 1848 was a member of the Frankfurt Parliament. As the editor of Zeitung für di elegante Welt (Zeitung für die elegante Welt - Newspaper for an Elegant World), he played a prominent role in the cultural life of Germany. In the years 1849-1867 he served as director of the Vienna Hofburgtheater.
