Strung Out - Bring Out Your Dead

On January 5, the Guns were opening for Great White, another group of their manager, in the city center of Santa Monica. Two days later, they went to the studio with producer Mike Clink and recorded (at least) five acoustic songs for a mini-album that Geffen employees wanted to release in order to fill the gap between Appetite for Destruction, which was quickly gaining positions on the charts, and the next "official" album, Guns N 'Roses. At that time, Axl already recognized that the next disc would be ready no earlier than two years later. (Actually, the preparation dragged on for more than three years.)
