In June, Guns, led by guitarist Manny Charlton of the Scottish band Nazareth, whom Axl and Izzy loved at school, recorded a long demo tape. Guns attended all of Nazareth’s seven Southern California gigs in June, and Axl asked Charlton to direct the recording. They recorded twenty-seven songs at Hollywood's Sound City Studio, including earlier versions of Paradise City, Back Off Bitch, The Garden, Sentimental Movie, Crash, Bad Obsession, Anything Goes "And" Just Another Sunday. " Axl also played an early version of November Rain to Charlton, saying that he would "leave this song for the second album."
