Godsmack - Voodoo

With the spread of gramophone recording on the radio and the rise in popularity of the first Negro radio stations, the young generations adopted the free tone inherent in Negro music. Some DJs quickly became interested in the liberation of morals, transmitting rhythm and blues recordings for teenagers. This was characteristic of Dewey Phillips in Memphis and Alan Fried in Cleveland - it was he who finally introduced the expression “rock and roll”, entitled his program “Moondog Rock'n'Roll Party”. With the move to New York at the end of the summer of 1954, he was able to expand this movement and even appropriate this formulation, which he officially patented.
