Eleanor (or Leonora) Prochazka, born in 1785, was a native of Potsdam, daughter of a regimental flutist. The ideas of the struggle against Napoleon ignited many hearts, including women, at the beginning of the 19th century, and the examples of girls and women who fought in the army in men's clothing and under male names were not individual. Eleanor Prochazka, enlisted in the volunteer regiment of Major Ludwig von Lutzov under the name of August Renz, died on October 5, 1813 due to a severe wound in battle. Only a doctor discovered her true sex when examining a wound; colleagues did not realize that the brave soldier Renz was a girl.
