Pissing Razors - Where We Come From

In the summer and autumn of 1808, Beethoven became friendly with the Countess Maria Erdedy, whom he had known for many years, but kept some distance from her (possibly due to jealousy of Josephine Dame). Until 1808, Beethoven’s letters did not mention Countess Erdödy, although Schindler claimed in his book that it was Beethoven who had been seeking spiritual comfort after breaking up with Juliet Gvichchardi, and, allegedly, in desperation, even tried to starve herself to death, hiding in the thickets of the garden on the estate Erdodee. Most likely, this was either a complete lie or a vague half-truth (the curious Schindler did not know anything about Beethoven’s romance with Josephine).
