On April 15, Wagner moved to Tribshen and began to equip a new home in a romantic spirit to his liking. Using a pun, he gave the villa the name Triebschen, which, on the one hand, almost phonetically repeated the name of the locality Tribschen, and on the other, it personified the emotional emotional impulse with which he and his beloved chose a new refuge. (Trieb in German means “impulse”, “aspiration”; but perhaps it was also a philosophical allusion to the transience of being: Triebsand translates as “quicksand”.) It was with this grammatical nuance that he began to write the name of his shelter in correspondence .
