The author of masses, motets, hymns, psalms written in the traditions of the old Roman school. His Miserere is known (1822), performed in the papal chapel along with the famous Miserere G. Allegri. He wrote a 2-volume monograph on the life and work of J. Palestrina and other lit. Op. Among B. 's students are composers J. A. Lafage and O. Nikolai. Lit.
