Another question is whether in the near future there will be as many female conductors as there are men. I do not really believe in this, firstly, because it will be very difficult for many men, even if they never admit it, to play under the guidance of a woman. This does not fit well with a certain sort of male identity. But this will change, especially since now many women stand behind the conductor's desk, achieve brilliant results and have long been able to convince men of their orchestras. However, women who are attracted to conducting should clearly understand one thing: they must be strong personalities and have very strong nerves, stronger than any of the other male competitors.
