Five power ballads complete the album. “Sorry” looks a gloomy apology for infantility and malice. IRS, one of the earliest tracks from Democracy, is decorated with many fast guitars and good old screams. Another old song, Madagascar, shows mid-tempo rock with opera cadences of two different Martin Luther King sermons and a sound collage (created by Axl) from caustic lines taken in Hollywood films. This I Love, whose sugary orchestrations evoke the worst moments of November Rain, is filled with longing and regret. This is the only album track written by Axl solo. (Guns fans immediately realized that the footage couldn't do without autumn alleys and desert freeways.)
