Axl and Doug Goldstein made all decisions for the rest of the group, who were then informed by fax or phone. And then Axl showed Slash and Duff a new contract. Slash: “It said that Axl has all the rights to the name of the group and can put together a new group called Guns N 'Roses. Duff and I could participate, but only on his terms. It all looked like we were hired workers. ” Slash hesitated with Duff. On August 31, 1995, Axl sent them a letter informing him that he was leaving the group and was taking back the title. Slash and Duff capitulated and signed Axl's new contract.
