Like all Brainings, Stefan possessed innate generosity and a sense of duty, but, unlike Lenz, he was, like Ludwig, unsociable and hot-tempered, especially in his youth. Therefore, their relationship was not always cloudless. Sometimes they quarreled and did not communicate for a long time. However, Stefan von Braining remained indestructible to Beethoven until the end of his days and helped him a lot in the last months of his life.
