Anton Felix Schindler, son of a poor school teacher from Moravia, served in the law office of Dr. Johann Baptist Bach, who became Beethoven’s lawyer in 1819 and helped him win his last lawsuits at the magistrate and the Court of Appeal. At that time he was 24 years old, he graduated from the law faculty of the University of Vienna, passionately loved music and played the violin well. Schindler later said that he met Beethoven back in 1814. But this is not documented. Moreover, there is no evidence that Schindler turned out to be Beethoven until September 1822, although, of course, the composer could see him in the office of Dr. Bach, or he could send Schindler to his famous client with some instructions.
