At the height was the fall of the romantic period of music. In the two decades in which Strauss was to become a young composer, this fall was destined to fade, but so far it was fragrant and bloomed. The spring preceding it came at the beginning of the century, when Beethoven and Schubert created great music of the romantic era, and Bellini, Rossini and Weber - her sweet-tune melodies.
