As for 1807, a version arose here related to the publication in 1909 by the musicologist Ida Maria Lipsius (who wrote under the pseudonym La Mara) of fragments of the diary and memoirs of Teresa Brunswick. From these texts it could be concluded that Teresa was the Immortal lover. The authoritative Beethovenist Alexander Wheelock Thayer also earlier inclined to this opinion, however, he preferred to move the letter to 1806, despite the fact that on July 6 in 1806 it was Sunday. But Thayer knew that in July 1807 Beethoven was in Baden near Vienna and did not take any long journeys.
