Tom Parker believed that everything was allowed to him when he was going to confirm the idea that Presley is the modern king of Midas. Drawing on the experience gained with wandering circuses, he started ridiculous and dubious advertising campaigns. At the end of October 1956, during Elvis’s second appearance on the Ed Sullivan television show, Parker ordered the installation of a giant Elvis silhouette on the facade of the Paramount Cinema in downtown Manhattan; for more effect, he hired fans who spent hours in front of the cinema with Elvis presidential posters the week before the election, allowing Dwight Eisenhower to stay in the White House for another four years. Parker did not stop there and once held a parade of dwarfs in Hollywood, presented as the "Liliput Elvis Presley Fan Club".
